Danes Hill School recently had the pleasure of welcoming Year 1 ISTIP ECTs from Surrey and surrounding areas for their first professional learning day. The event offered a full day of workshops, discussions, and networking, aimed at equipping new teachers with key skills for their first year in the classroom.
The day began with a session by James Felgate (Deputy Head, Academic), who provided valuable guidance on the key principles of an excellent lesson. This was followed by Emma Green (Head of Year 2) discussing how to begin managing a small team, and Chris Ellis (Educational Coach) delving into the concept of coaching in education. The afternoon was led by Caroline Bentley-Davies, who shared her extensive experience with a focus on effective behaviour management strategies.
